Dreamweaver
Carpet, from Engineered Floors, which lists DreamWeaver as its carpet line.
Aladdin Commercial
Commercial broadloom, carpet tile and LVT. Aladdin says every product it makes is backed by Mohawk.
Happy Feet International

Why the maker matters

The warranties on these floors are written by the mills. Mohawk’s lifetime floodproof cover on SolidTech R Select and Shaw’s Pet Perfect promise are both the maker’s word, not the store’s. Knowing the name on the back of a sample tells you whose warranty you are reading.

So pick by the floor and the room first, then check which brand makes the one you like. Each material has its own page under the floors, with the lines it comes from.

Questions

The brands, answered

Is Shaw Floors owned by Mohawk?

No. Shaw Industries describes itself as a Berkshire Hathaway company, and Mohawk is a separate business. Both are on the sample racks here: Shaw for carpet such as Pet Perfect, Mohawk for SolidTech vinyl, RevWood laminate, SmartStrand carpet and TecWood engineered wood.

Who makes COREtec flooring?

US Floors. COREtec is its rigid-core vinyl, offered in its tile collection with a choice of SPC, WPC or mineral cores, all of which it says give 100% waterproof protection. US Floors is one of the eleven names on the old site’s brand strip.

Who makes Dreamweaver carpet?

Engineered Floors, which lists DreamWeaver as its carpet line. It is one of three carpet names on the brand strip, alongside Mohawk’s SmartStrand and Shaw Floors, and can be seen at the Spring Hill or Nashville showroom or brought to the house as samples.

Is Armstrong Flooring still made?

The brand is still sold, under new ownership. Its website, armstrongflooring.com, now carries the copyright of AHF, LLC, and still publishes Armstrong Flooring’s product pages and its guide to choosing rigid-core flooring. Ask at the showroom which Armstrong lines are on the racks.

What is Aladdin Commercial?

Mohawk’s commercial flooring line. Aladdin Commercial says every product it makes is backed by Mohawk, and it sells broadloom, carpet tile and LVT for offices, schools and other buildings. It is one of the lines used on the commercial jobs.
